Don't Deceive : Ethics in Business.

"Morality is a means to an end. Happiness is that end." -Aristotle
Happiness is the end we all strive for. One of the foundations for happiness is a good character, and morality is foundational to a good character. -Jerry Fleming, author of Profit At Any Cost?
Actually i'm planning to make a new blog for this kind of topics. Everything about business, self-developement and finance in one single blog. This supposed to be my personal diary, my personal things. But i wanna let some people, who wish to deal with me in business, to know that either it's personal or business, i apply the same absolute values.

What are the absolute values? You can find them in every good religion or belief, whether it's in Christianity (Don't talk about Da Vincci Bullshit with me), Buddhism, Islamic, Hinduism, Confuciousism or Judaism.

1. Don't murder.
2. Don't commit adultery.
3. Don't steal.
4. Don't deceive.
5. Don't covet [yearn to possess (something belonging to someone else)].
6. Treat others as you would want them to treat you.

Rule 3 to rule 6 can be used as business ethics.

Rule no.4 : Don't deceive means, the stakeholders (shareholders, management, suppliers, customers, employees) have the right to know everything that's going on in the business. If there's a problem in the business, it's better that you don't say anything and if the stakeholders want to know the problem. Say it. Don't talk any other excuses or anything. Just be honest with them.

Example, if you find something is wrong with your goods, let the customers know about it. If you know that your customers don't need your products, let them know. It's not only about the money. Business is a trade of trust. You trust them, and they trust you... Only then, there's a deal.

I'd seen distributors from network marketing, or salesman from some companies... being so dishonest till i feel like slapping their face. I'd just saw a 15 year old kid joined a network marketing that costs minimum rm2345 or rm30k (you know which company, don't wanna say the name or i'll be sued). How can they do that to a kid? It's about the money? Is money more important than any of the absolute values? People hate salesman because their image toward salesmen is "Someone who sell you something that you don't need and that is overly expensive and you'll never see them after the sale is done."

Some said, "That's the way to do business." Well, read my lips... "Fuck You!" There is business ethics in this world. The value never change.

Buddhism states it : A state that is not pleasing or delightful to me, how could i inflict that upon another?
Hinduism states it : Do naught unto others which would cause you pain if done to you.
Islam states it : Not one of you is a believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.
Christianity states it : So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.

My point of view is : The more customers you can serve, the richer you are. The better you serve your customers, the wealthier you are. Serving more customers is an art, but serving your customers better is a combination of art and values.

The reason we are here in this world, is to make it a better place =)

I really feel like writing a blog about entrepreneurship. Things that you can't learn at school... Support, anyone?
